T-Rex 250 Review
Align is a world-class remote control helicopter manufacturer that’s always ahead of the curve. With a full set of features in a tiny package, the company’s T-Rex 250 micro heli is yet another of its machines that lives up to the Align name. It comes with a colorful, pre-painted fiberglass canopy, a full metal head and carbon fiber parts. If you buy the popular super combo kit you also get a brushless ESC, a motor, three digital cyclic servos and a heading lock gyro with digital tail servo.
While the T-Rex 250 is relatively simple to put together if you’re not an absolute beginner, you can also buy it ready-built if you prefer. The tail case, frames and head are actually supplied already assembled, so you’re not even starting from scratch. The manual provides very clear assembly instructions, and although the high-quality parts are small, they’re all numbered, so you really can’t go wrong as long as you’re patient. You’ll never have a problem getting hold of spare parts, nor will you have to spend a lot on them.
Despite its small size, the T-Rex 250 micro RC helicopter performs just as well as its bigger brothers. It’s relatively easy to control for such a small machine, which gives you the flexibility of being able to fly it indoors or out. The T-Rex 250 hovers quite obediently but then zips along nicely when in flight. It’s highly maneuverable, and once you switch to 3D mode you’ll be able to perform all kinds of fancy moves. This model is, in fact, widely used in 3D flying competitions, where it frequently wins top prizes.
The T-Rex 250 helicopter runs on an inexpensive Li-Po battery – so you can afford to buy three or four to have on hand so you don’t miss any time in the air. Each battery charge takes around 30 minutes and provides 8-10 minutes of flying time. This well-designed heli has a solid construction and a rigid frame that gives extra stability and allows it to survive most crashes without too much damage. The top-quality electronics help make the T-Rex 250 ultra-controllable and a sheer joy to fly.
This is a very versatile remote controlled heli that’s well worth its price. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned 3D pilot, you’ll be sure to love the Align T-Rex 250.
